5-day Knit Garment Construction

In this course, you will learn to knit a top of your own design.

On day 1, we discuss the design of your knit top, choose yarns and develop stitch techniques. We recommend bringing your favourite top/vest which has the shape you'd like to copy.

With the garment you bring, you will learn how to measure the garment, calculate the stitches and rows needed from a tension swatch, shape curves using decreases and holding position, and practice trims.

We then knit the garment using your custom pattern, wash, block, and steam the knitted pieces, and link/assemble it on the knitting machine.

Please bring a garment the shape you'd like to copy.
