Knitward

Founded in 2022 by knitwear artist Hania Dudziak, Knitward is a specialist machine and hand knitting studio based in a historic former hospital ward in King’s Cross, London.

Hania’s industry background includes developing knitwear for leading global labels like Stella McCartney, Ashley Williams, and Bella Freud, as well as epic fibre set pieces for icons like Vogue, Saks Fifth Avenue New York, and Zara. Today, her work spans high-end industry collaborations and contemporary textile education.

Commissions for Film, Fashion & Display

Knitward partners with brands, directors, and stylists to create bespoke knitted textiles. Hania specialise in:

Set Pieces & Props: Custom knitted installations for film sets, editorials, and photoshoots.

Window Displays: Eye-catching, tactile retail installations.

Sampling & Development: Industry-standard knitwear prototypes and swatches.

From initial textile concept to technical execution, Hania brings precise, craft-led thinking to structural and spatial commissions.

The Knitward Academy

Knitward is expanding into a premier hand and machine knitting academy, offering in-person London workshops and soon flexible online global courses.

Our practical, hands-on classes cater to beginners and intermediate makers alike. Hania teaches the technical foundations of domestic knitting machines, core stitch structures, and advanced hand-texturing techniques. Hania’s goal is to bridge the gap between contemporary craft and real industry practice; all in a calm, focused studio environment (complete with a steady supply of tea and biscuits).
