A beginner-friendly introduction to the domestic knitting machine.Over two days, you’ll learn the essentials,

Day 1 covers an open work sample in which you learn to use the tools and basics of machine knitting, including casting on and off and transferring stitches for lace hole patterns, and more. Plus other techniques like pin tuck, weave and jacquard/fair isle for colour and texture.

Day 2 briefly covers additional techniques, such as tucking for texture and hand-manipulated ribbing with beads, to further develop basic skills and have some experimental fun.

Knowledge required

No previous machine knitting experience is required.
